AZTEC CALENDAR
|
During the month of January, our social studies class will be investigating several ancient civilizations, including the Aztec, Maya, and Inca. Shown to the left is an image of the Aztec calendar. Students have been asked to color a similar calendar, and several wanted to be able to see an image at home, so it is included. It was found at: www.azteccalendar.com/image |
We are researching how to prepare for natural disasters that could occur in our area. If you and your family would like to feel better prepared, feel free to click on the websites below for useful information.

MILL CREEK WATER HAULING PROJECT
Our students had a real-life experience of hauling water from Mill Creek. This allowed them to understand the value of fresh, clean water coming from the tap! Other places must haul unclean water daily. It is time-consuming and dangerous and a job delegated mostly to children.
Now, we understand the difference between using 80-100 gallons of water daily and having only 1-2 gallons of unclean water available that is hauled by hand.
Stay tuned for more PBL (project-based learning) experiences. It is a learning trend that is truly worthwhile!
